Would you like to take a stroll through the warehouse district with the sea breeze?
“Kitahama Alley” in Takamatsu City is a photogenic spot with unique shops gathered in retro buildings. Would you like to spend some relaxing time while looking out at the sea?
“Kitahama Alley” has a retro port town atmosphere

“Kitahama Alley” is located on the waterfront of Takamatsu Port, just a 10-minute walk from “Sunport Takamatsu”.
This is a commercial complex with a nostalgic atmosphere, renovated from a group of warehouses built in the early Showa era.
This area used to be a busy temporary storage area for cargo transiting through Takamatsu Port. The warehouse district, which ended its role with the passage of time, has been reborn as a spot filled with attractive stores such as stylish cafes and restaurants, unique general stores, galleries, and boutiques, while still retaining the vestiges of its past.
The unique landscape of rusted steel frames and brick buildings faded by the sea breeze is like a scene from a movie. The space, which combines a retro atmosphere with new culture, is gaining popularity, especially among the younger generation.
There is also a promenade facing the sea, where you can enjoy a leisurely stroll while admiring the beauty of the islands in the Seto Inland Sea and the boats passing by. If you’re lucky, you might be able to see a group of warehouses silhouetted against the backdrop of a beautiful sunset.
In addition, events such as flea markets and concerts are held regularly at Kitahama Alley, which is crowded with local residents and tourists.
